Abstract

A study was conducted to describe family physiciansknowledge on accidents and their prevention. It included 141 family physicians and nurses from Old Havana municipality in June, 1996. Data were collected from questionnaires comprising variables on the main accident features and their prevention; relative frequency as a percent was used. 56,1 % of physicians and 38.2 % of nurses passed the test. 59.8 % of physicians and 64.7 % of nurses were considered to be ready to face accident problems.
