Abstract

HERNANDEZ MALPICA, Sara et al. Aluminosis: A propósito de 2 casos. Rev Cubana Hig Epidemiol [online]. 1999, vol.37, n.3, pp.146-150. ISSN 0253-1751.

2 patients from a group of 6 workers that had worked in the activity of metal spraying (covering of metallic surfaces with powdered aluminium using a torch) and had shared long working days during 8 years as an average are presented. It is described the onset and evolution of the disease, which was very serious and rapid in the first case and a little more moderate in the second. Both patients died. Details are given about the working conditions and the changes made before and after the cases are diagnosed. As a result of the analysis of the examinations carried out and of their occupational, personal and family histories, it is concluded that these 2 patients were affected by aluminosis.
