Abstract

After presenting a short description of a "mambi"-blood hospital, a brief biographical review of the women having the rank of Captain in the Army and their performance as Military Nurses on the Independence War in Pinar del Rio, a research was conducted. The most outstanding women were: Adela Azcuy, Luz Noriega, Regla Socarras and Catalina Valdes.
