Abstract

LOPEZ RODRIGUEZ, Abrahán Segundo. Gravity water pressure flow with HDPE pipes. RIHA [online]. 2012, vol.33, n.3, pp. 3-17. ISSN 1680-0338.

High density polyethylene (HDPE) in flow pipes is displacing other traditional materials in water supply systems. Calculation of gravity water pressure pipe flow is focused in finding a hydraulically functional pipe diameter with enough thickness to withstanding hydraulic pressures to ensure an economical solution. The selection of the pipe diameter is then a complex process from the hydraulic as well as the structural points of view. The scope of this paper is to identify, from a standard pipe catalog, economically feasible combinations of HDPE pipe diameters for gravity water pressure flow and to guide the selection to the best solutions

Keywords : polyethylene pipes; pressure pipe flow; water supply.
