Abstract
CASTRO MENDOZA, Itzel. Soil loss estimate by hydric erosion at Madin dam watershed, state of Mexico, Mexico. RIHA [online]. 2013, vol.34, n.2, pp. 3-16. ISSN 1680-0338.
Madin microbasin is located at the state of Mexico, and is one of the main supplies of drinkable water for Mexico City and The Metropolitan Zone. The hydrological behavior of the microbasin is affected by hydric erosion, diminishing the quantity and quality of the water collected and stored at Madin dam. The land use change is the main cause of hydric erosion at the microbasin and the annual average rate of soil erosion is 7.58 ton/ha/year, based on the Universal Soil Loss Equation. The loss is concentrated over the low and middle parts of the microbasin.
