The purpose of the present report aims at studying consumption water in Breezes Jibacoa hotel by means of a physical, chemical and microbiological characterization of input and output water at the inverse osmosisplant engaged to desalinate the water in that installation. The odor, color, pH, electrical conductivity, chlorides, total hardness, total dissolved solids, ammoniac nitrogen, organic nitrogen, total fats, oils, and coliforms were evaluated. In addition, a general balance ofconsumption water availability and associated cost to alternative sources of water supplywere made, based on the standards and regulations established in the country, reaching to the conclusion that this plant works satisfactorily and that the hotel requires alternative sources to replace potable water demand.
