Abstract

ROMERO LOPEZ, Teresita de Jesús; RODRIGUEZ FIALLO, Humberto  and  MASO MOSQUEDA, Arquímides. Characterization of wastewater generated in a Cuban textile industry. riha [online]. 2016, vol.37, n.3, pp.46-58. ISSN 1680-0338.

This work was done in a Cuban textile industry, located in Havana, and aimed to gather all the information in the industry related to the physical and chemical characteristics of the wastewater, and to make a veredict on the operation of the Cleaner Production Plan in operation in the industry since 2006. An update of the effluent quality was also conducted in 2015 and concluded that this industry, even without a treatment system for its wastewater, complies with regulations for dumping to the sewage system, which does not avoid the need to install their own conventional plant and reuse the treated water in their facilities.

Keywords : textile industry; wastewater; treatment.
