Abstract

PONCE PORTELA, Miguel  and  CORDOVA LOPEZ, Luis F.. Hydrodynamic simulation of the Havana seawall and the bay of Havana. riha [online]. 2016, vol.37, n.3, pp.59-73. ISSN 1680-0338.

Climate change has worsened the living conditions on the planet. To understand and predict these phenomena has become a necessity in the current world, which has led to the generation of mathematical tools to evaluate risk areas and the extent of damages caused by these phenomena. The work presented here is aimed at the application of mathematical modeling with the tool ADCIRC (Advanced Circulation Model),to a highly vulnerable area, as is the Seawall of the Havana city and its bay, determining the hydrodynamic variables for different scenarios, which allows toset security policies, coastal zone management, and efficient design parameters based on the actions for coastal protection.

Keywords : currents; hydrodynamic modeling; sea levels.
