Abstract

This paper explores the changes in the professional model as a starting point for curricular design of the teaching process of the hydraulic engineer in Cuba. The importance of its elaboration is highlighted, taking into account the demands of the society and the scientific-technological development achieved, which have an impact on the modes and spheres of action. Its peculiarities are analyzed as a function of four stages, which allowed identifying the qualitative leaps and the definition of its components, as well as their relationships; the cut criterion were the essential transformations that gave origin to a new curricula for the formation of this professional. Therefore the objective is to unveil the particularities in the evolution of the professional model for the teaching process of the hydraulic engineer in Cuba.
