Abstract

ROMERO LOPEZ, Teresita de Jesús  and  VARGAS MATO, Dabiel. Efficient microorganisms in polluted water treatment. riha [online]. 2017, vol.38, n.3, pp. 88-100. ISSN 1680-0338.

Efficient microorganisms have been reported as an alternative to solve hydric contamination problems, because they can use polluting compounds existing in waters as a carbon source and energy for their metabolism and growth. For that reason the present work had as objective to determine physical, chemical and microbiological changes, that take place in wastewaters after Versaklin product application (constituted by those microorganisms) in 10 points located in Güines ditch, Mayabeque, Cuba. For accomplishment of the study, after Versaklin inoculation, samplings were collected at 0 h, 24 h and 48 h. After those studies it was possible to conclude that the best removal of different parameters took place at 24 h after the Versaklin application, almost eliminating the presence of microorganisms typical of polluted waters.

Keywords : efficient microorganisms; removal; Versaklin; ditch.
