Abstract

This paper presents a methodology for the determination of the coefficients of the mathematical expression of each of the characteristic curves resulting from placing rotodynamic pumps in parallel, starting from knowing the curves of one of them. The proposed methodology, called Area Method, is based on the direct relationship between the areas under the curves (polynomials) of a pump and the one corresponding to the case in question (n parallel pumps). The aim of the paper is to determine the coefficients of the characteristic curves resulting from the combination of rotodynamic pumps in parallel, as well as to provide a tool for knowing the method of obtaining such characteristic coefficients.
