Abstract

PEREZ HERNANDEZ, Ricardo  and  JIMENEZ ESPINOSA, Esequiel Rolando. Evaluation of furrow irrigation infiltration models in ferrasol soils. riha [online]. 2018, vol.39, n.2, pp. 3-15. ISSN 1680-0338.

Field evaluations of six infiltration empiric models are presented, and selection of the best based on its effects upon the irrigation quality indicators (efficiencies), in relationship with the behavior of the soil water infiltration. This by means of creditable field evaluation data of precedent works. The evaluated inflows were Qo = 1,25 L/s and Qo = 1,5 L/s, in Ceballos: tobacco and tomato. Qo = 1,56 L/s, in the Technical Scientific Unit, Investigation Institute of Agriculture Engineering, Alquizar: papaya. The Kostiakov - Lewis model was the best, as well as its different variants. The storage and application efficiencies had the following 91,4 % and Eap = 66 - 53,3 %. Finally, for all models, the optimal tendency line was of potential type with R2 = (1 - 0,9963).

Keywords : irrigation efficiency; water management; infiltration models.
