Abstract

GONZALEZ PEREZ, Mario Guadalupe  and  LOPEZ LARA, Luis Fernando. Residential construction and water tributaries in the metropolis of Guadalajara, Mexico. riha [online]. 2018, vol.39, n.2, pp. 100-111. ISSN 1680-0338.

Urban-residential construction consumes enormous amounts of matter and energy from the environment. In this sense, the objective of the article is to identify and diagnose the entropic components related to urban solid wastes in the micro-basin of the Blanco river in the metropolis of Guadalajara, Mexico, which goes through a rapid process of urbanization. For this, the Pressure-State-Response model, the on-site inspection and the Water Flow Simulator in Hydrographic Basins provided by the Institute of Geography, Statistics and Information Technology are used. The main results show that the progress of urbanization in the microbasin has generated entropy that affects homeostasis in the urban system. Therefore, the implementation of negentropic measures related to the integrated management of available natural resources becomes relevant.

Keywords : water tributaries; entropic forces; negentropic forces; habitability; urban solid wastes.
