The present article is the third of a series of seven, all relative to energy dissipators that can be used in hydraulic works. The whole group of these articles conform a monograph about the subject that was prepared by the author, concluding it by the middle of the 2017 year and later on incorporating it into a new edition - in preparation - of the textbook "Spillways and Intake Structures.". This third article is a detailed presentation about the stilling basin with sloping apron and impact-type energy dissipator.
