Abstract

PEREZ HERNANDEZ, Ricardo; JIMENEZ ESPINOSA, Esequiel Rolando  and  SILVEIRA RIVERO, José Luis. Evaluation of furrow irrigation infiltration models in vertisoils. riha [online]. 2020, vol.41, n.1, pp. 43-55.  Epub Apr 01, 2020. ISSN 1680-0338.

With the aim of improving furrow irrigation practice, five infiltration empiric models were evaluated in vertisoils and the best were selected based on their effects upon the irrigation indicators (efficiencies), as related with the behavior of the soil water infiltration in five points along the furrows. The evaluated inflows were: Qo = 3, 2 L/s, Qo = 4, 4 L/s and Qo = 5 L/s; located in the 0-68 block, J. Diaz District, belonging to the Sugar Industrial Enterprise Urbano Noris. The Kostiakov - Lewis model was the best along with its variants. The resulting storage and application efficiencies had the following behavior: Ealm = 98, 7 - 96 % and Eap = 61, 6 - 54, 6 %. The optimal tendency was the linear type with R 2 = (0, 9997 - 0, 9926).

Keywords : irrigation efficiencies; field evaluations; empiric models.
