Abstract

ALVAREZ ESCOBAR, María del Carmen et al. The Burnout syndrome and the intensive care nursery staff. Rev. Med. Electrón. [online]. 2009, vol.31, n.3. ISSN 1684-1824.

We carried out a transversal, observational, descriptive study with the objective of analyzing the Burnout syndrome behaviour in the intensive care nursery staff of the Hospital Faustino Perez, Matanzas in march 2007, through the application of a poll with socio-demographic parameters and Maslach survey. Among the most important results we can state that the most affected dimension was the emotional exhaustion and that most of the patients were at risk of suffering the Burnout syndrome. With respecting to the personal perceptions we could appreciate that there were not data favouring its relation with the studied disease.
