Treatment with highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) has prolonged successfully life expectancy in patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), so that the chronic HIV infection and HAART are associated long-term complications. The term venous thrombosis disease (TED) includes several pathological processes like the deep venous thrombosis (DVT). In the specific case of patients with HIV, there have been considered the existence of a series of anticoagulant and/or coagulant factors predisposing the development of this complication. We expose the results of our work in the national program for HIV/AIDS Sierra Leone as inter-consultant for vascular complications, allow us to perform a clinical characterization of patients with HIV/AIDS and DVT. Conclusions: The patients with HIV/AIDS under the treatment with HAART, have a lot of factors that predispose to the development of the DVT, the combination of the predictive models of Wells + D-Dimmer + Venous Duplex have a sensibility near of the 100% for the diagnosis of the DVT, the levels of CD4+ are related with the development of this process.
