Abstract

Background: the usage of bibliometric indicators allows analyzing the  research activity and is vital the quality assessment of the published  works. The authors of this article continued previous studies carried out in Médica Electrónica. Aim: to quantify the published articles, taking into account their  typology and recedence, to assess the scientific content of Revista  Médica Electrónica in the period 2012-2014. Materials and methods: descriptive-kind bibliometric study, with temporal analysis and retrospective character. We studied the following variables: year of publishing, articles typology, municipality, province and country of the article precedence. Outcomes: we analyzed 18 issues, published during the three studied  years, for a total of 252 articles, and a supplement of 11 articles.  Matanzas municipality was the one with more publications. There are still several municipalities of the province where nobody has  published. During the three studied years, there are 26 articles from  other provinces, and 2 from other countries.
