Abstract

As part of a pedagogic research project, oriented to support the developed of Nursing Informatics field in Cuba, the course "Informatics for the management of care" was designed. To decide the contents of the course, systematic reviews of materials and educative curricula about the topics was done; the revision and analysis from expert's consultations and its criteria were considered based on the information management framework proposed by Staggers, et al. Topics presented by PAHO to develop e-Health and the educational projections presented by IMAI-NI-SIG orientated to the best integration of informatics in the quality of care were considered too. As outcome, four integrated courses were designed and the first edition was developed. In accord to students and professors criterions it is necessary to emphasize on the content relation with "Assessment and Nursing Informatics". Another outcome was an action-intervention participation project for definition and design of solutions for care treatment. A didactic material set for generalizing the contents; the redesign of the courses and the integration of a group with knowledge about the topic, were also achievements of the project. The creation of a group interested in researching about this topic was also an outcome of this first edition. The aim of this paper is to present the design, experiences and outcomes of the research as a whole.
