Abstract

Information and Communication Technology are the basis of most of management operations in the world today. The impact of ICT in health includes the opening of possibilities for communication between clients (people, sick or not) and health care providers. eHealth offers a new way of doing it. Literature describes four methods for applying it, they all involve information management, in some cases sensitive information. On this exchange, communication should be pleasant, but respectful, otherwise the links gets deteriorate and may even finish, in the best case. Other times, consequences can have legal implications. This research aims to propose some ethical standards contextualized on the management of information in eHealth. A documentary analysis was performed based on information retrieved on the Internet, which allowed to develop a proposal of ethical standards for the management of information in eHealth. Acting in accordance with these basic rules, rights of human beings are also respected.
