ROJAS HERNANDEZ, Yoisel Leopoldo. Continuous training model oriented to virtual learning environments in times of COVID-19. Rev Hum Med [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.2, pp.407-420.  Epub June 14, 2022. ISSN 1727-8120.

Introduction:

The continuous training of university teachers aimed at strengthening theoretical-practical knowledge in technologies applied to Education, constitutes a priority in times of COVID-19, since through the respective training actions, the faculty will gradually incorporate the use of virtual classrooms in the teaching-educational process.

Objective:

The objective is to expose a continuous training model for university teachers oriented to virtual learning environments.

Methods:

Prospective longitudinal intervention research carried out at the University of Medical Sciences of Sancti Spíritus, during the academic years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021, we worked with a probabilistic sample of 50 professionals that intentionally included the dean of the faculty, when using methods respective theoretical and empirical sources of information were consulted and the principles of voluntariness, impartiality and confidentiality of the data collected were taken into account.

Results:

A continuous training model was proposed that has its origin from the identified training needs, where its foundations and methodological bases are based on the materialist and dialectical conception, prevailing the forms of organization of teaching work with emphasis on the concrete historical character of the current educational phenomenon.

Conclusion:

The proposed model has the capacity to stimulate the individuality of the continuous training of teachers, by developing it with a flexible and guiding character, in a collaborative environment, which responds in its design to the humanistic conception that the Cuban social project proclaims, in times of COVID-19.
