Abstract

Introduction: ocular Toxoplasmosis (TXO), congenital, is the most common cause of posterior uveitis (retinochoroiditis) of known etiology. If the macula is affected by necrosis or by the effects of inflammation, visual impairment occurs, in rare situations bilateral affection carry the patient in a visual impairment. Objective: to show that visual rehabilitation with optical aids and positive motivation of the patient is the most appropriate method to achieve the best visual quality. Case presentation: a 42-year female patient with severe low vision near and far in both eyes (AO). The patient did not improve with conventional correction. Conclusions: the rehabilitation was performed in 3 sessions of 90 minutes, making it possible to achieve a visual acuity of 0.8 OD and 1.0 in OI to far with Focusable Monocular Telescope (ts) 6x and 0.6 OI to close using overcorrection of 10.00 with OD occluded. The patient, a month and a half after rehabilitation, said new motivation considering the improvement in the visual acuity for near.
