Abstract

The objective of this article was to design a methodology for the implementation of the high jump technique in first year high school students at the Fiscal Education Unit May 25, Crucita Parish, Portoviejo Canton, Manabí, Ecuador. The methodology used was a quantitative qualitative approach, descriptive research, with longitudinal cut where the total population of the first year of high school parallel "A" of the institution under study was taken as a sample, being a total of 25 students, who were evaluated through an observation guide, which allowed detecting and recording the main deficiencies in the execution of the high jump. As results, it was found an initial regular level in this practice product of the empiricism of the teachers of the Physical Culture area, a methodology was proposed for the practice of the Fosbury Flop technique that includes previous exercises and by the four phases of this which are approach (or run-up), take off, flight and landing which were successfully implemented managing to increase to a good level and positively influencing the motivation of the parties.
