Abstract

MONTALVAN-LABRADA, Frank  and  MOLINA-PEREZ, Enrique. Experimental activities for the development of the teaching of Chemistry in 9th grade. Luz [online]. 2023, vol.22, n.3, pp. 59-69.  Epub Sep 15, 2023. ISSN 1814-151X.

Chemistry is an eminently experimental science in which the theoretical and the practical are harmoniously combined; hence, experimental activities play a fundamental role in its teaching process. Accordingly, the objective pursued was to design experimental activities for the development of 9th grade Chemistry teaching at "Ana Betancourt de Mora" High School. Methods of the theoretical and empirical level and the entrance and exit teaching strategy were applied. Experimental activities with an adjusted methodological structure were obtained, which includes substitutions of laboratory supplies, planning and preparation of the teacher, as well as tasks that contribute to the comprehensive general education of the student, achieving the development of logical thinking and cognitive independence. The proposal conceives the experimental activities with an interdisciplinary approach and contributes to the development of the teaching-learning process of 9th grade Chemistry.
