This article analyzes the process of philosophical theorization developed by the 19th century Cuban educator José de la Luz y Caballero, in the glosses to notes 10 to 16 of the text Impugnación a las doctrinas filosóficas de Víctor Cousin (Objection to the philosophical doctrines of Victor Cousin).In his comments, he unmasks the political intentions of eclecticism, analyzes the relations between Psychology, Physiology and Anthropology, demonstrates the impossibility of Psychology as the key to all sciences,denies consciousness as the principle of all intellectual faculties and rejects the use of Cousin's 1829 Course as a textbook for the teaching of Philosophy.The aim of the article is to analyze the process of enrichment and systematization of the philosophical concepts developed by Luz in his commentaries to the notes under study, in dealing with various gnoseological,methodological, anthropological, psychological, ethical, theological problems, and especially the criticism of eclecticism.
