Abstract

BENITEZ CORTES, Isnel; GARCIA RODRIGUEZ, Agustín; RAMOS SANCHEZ, Luis Beltrán  and  PRIETO MONTENEGRO, Fernando. Determination of the heat transfer areas in rotary drum reactor. Energética [online]. 2018, vol.39, n.2, pp. 76-81. ISSN 1815-5901.

This work presents a methodology to obtain the heat transfer areas of a rotary drum reactor in the presence of baffles therein are determined. Different solids flow are evaluated between 3.4 and 7.6 g / s, and two rotational speeds, and 14,7 and 11.6 mpr. Since imaging of the rotary drum reactor profile, a mathematical procedure to study the influence of these variables on the value of gas transfer areas and solid-wall heat-wall is proposed. The results show that, in the case of solid contact - wall, increasing the inflow of solids to the reactor, the angle increases, there is a direct relationship. Moreover, it is observed that the contact angles are greater as the rotation speed increases for the same flow values studied. An opposite effect is observed in the case of gas-wall.

Keywords : reactor solid- gas no catalytic; reactor rotary drum; heat transfer areas.
