Abstract

JIMENEZ RAMOS, Antonio; PUERTA FERNANDEZ, Juan Francisco; GOMEZ SARDUY, Julio Rafael  and  JIMENEZ SANTANA, Yulier. Influence of the properties of the raw material in the performance of the extrusion process. Energética [online]. 2019, vol.40, n.1, pp. 73-80. ISSN 1815-5901.

Thermal conductivity, specific heat and density are properties of plastics, which directly influence the best or worst performance during the extrusion process in the production of plastic pipes. In spite of the close relationship between the properties Mentioned exist, in the present article it is reported how each of them individually affects in a different way in the energy efficiency during the cooling stage and in the productive performance, of the process of extrusion in general The minimum minimum cooling, the energy consumption index and the maximum flow of the extruder in the function of the pipe thickness and the properties of the raw material used, are the main results obtained. Simulation of the cooling process. The exact solution from the equation of conduction in the transient regime, it was the method used in the research.

Keywords : Physical propertie; plastic; energy performance; productive performance; plastic extrusion.
