Abstract
PEREZ BALUJA, Osmel; TORRES BREFFE, Orlys Ernesto and PEREZ HERMOSO, Rolando. Mutual inductance effect on protections of parallel transmission lines. Defect of their solutions. Energética [online]. 2020, vol.41, n.2 Epub Aug 31, 2020. ISSN 1815-5901.
In this article, a study of the main errors that introduces mutual zero sequence induction in the work of directional overcurrent and ground distance protections (67N and 21N), when they are protecting parallel transmission lines, is carried out. To understand this phenomenon and analyze possible solutions, it is modeled in DIGsilent Power and the negative effect of the phenomenon on the proper functioning of these protections is shown. The possible solutions to the problems introduced by the zero sequence mutual induction in the work of the protections (67N and 21N) are analyzed; noticing in most cases, that the solutions are not effective at all, since these do not completely eliminate all the difficulties that the phenomenon of mutual induction of zero sequence introduces to the work of parallel line protections and its cost is therefore high overall.
