Abstract

SANTOS RODRIGUEZ, Carlos  and  ADAY MARTINEZ, Ana Teresa. Genetic Algorithms: a solution for Parabolic Reflector´s Optimization. EAC [online]. 2014, vol.35, n.1, pp. 1-15. ISSN 1815-5928.

Genetic algorithms (GA) is a new mathematical tool based on the principles of evolution and natural selection, these have become a novel alternative for efficiently solving problems of different types of antennas. The impact of GA on the field of electromagnetism, reaches the parabolic radiation systems. This project exploits the multiobjective capacity of these algorithms in optimization of the aperture efficiency of simple parabolic reflectors. This project will work with the criteria of two prominent authors in the study of the antennas. In the optimization, the Genetic Algorithms and Direct Search tool of MATLAB 7.8.0 software and the software for the analysisof reflectors GRASP9 SE are used.

Keywords : Optimization; GA; fitness function; parabolic reflector; aperture efficiency; directivity.
