Abstract

MARICHAL LEYVA, Kenneth; QUIALA LLORENS, Reinier  and  PEREZ MOLINET, Ailén. Omnidirectional antenna type arrangement collinear using the microstrip technique for the band ISM 2,4 GHz. EAC [online]. 2019, vol.40, n.1, pp.31-45. ISSN 1815-5928.

In the present investigation, the obtaining of an antenna type collinear arrangement using the microstrip technique is described. To fulfill this objective, it was necessary to carry out a study on the antennas that are most frequently used in the 2,4 GHz ISM band; widely used to offer Wi-Fi service. The motivation of the research focuses on the little knowledge provided by the literature consulted on easy-to-reproduce antennas, light but at the same time robust, and that also have omnidirectional properties in the azimuth plane. Using the microstrip technique it was possible to achieve a prototype antenna that would meet such needs. The different stages of the design, simulation, construction and measurement process developed during the investigation are a sample of the results achieved were satisfactory, being guaranteed by obtaining the desired form of radiation and, according to the measurements made, of a high level of adaptation, demonstrated in a Stationary Wave Ratio (ROE) of less than 1,288 in the work band; while the impedance keeps its real part close to 50 Ohm and the imaginary close to zero.

Keywords : ISM band; Wifi; collinear arrangement; microstrip.
