Abstract
LOBAINA ABAD, Amalia; GONZALEZ BETANZOS, Luis Ramón; BORREGO CORONA, Miguel Eduardo and GONZALEZ DALMAU, Evelio. Metamaterial lens design with resonant rings for application in medical imaging of Magnetic Resonance. EAC [online]. 2021, vol.42, n.3, pp. 1-17. Epub Dec 10, 2021. ISSN 1815-5928.
This article proposes the design of two prototypes of magnetic metamaterial lens using rings resonator. The chosen structure is based on CLR resonator (capacitively loaded rings). The designs are conceived as wave guides, in order to reduce the effect of the electric field that causes the increase Signal-Noise Ratio in the coil for animals (Volume Resonator IDR5OD119 from Rapid Biomedical GmbH). This coil is used to obtain images of rats in non-clinical trials. The Siemens Magneton Allegra 3T Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment was used from the Cuban Neuroscience Center at Larmor frequency of 123.3 MHz.
Keywords : magnetic metamaterial lens; rings resonator; CLR resonator (capacitively loaded rings); wave guides; Signal-Noise Ratio; Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
