Abstract

ROMERO PEREZ, Julio Ariel  and  MIGUEL ESCRIG, Oscar. Software tool for the design of event based PID controllers with events generated by crossing fixed thresholds. EAC [online]. 2021, vol.42, n.3, pp. 82-92.  Epub Dec 11, 2021. ISSN 1815-5928.

Event-based PID control algorithms try to take advantage of the well-known benefits of PID controllers while reducing the traffic over the communications networks that connect the different devices in distributed control systems: sensors, controllers, actuators. This work shows recent results in the field of events based PID by crossing fixed thresholds and a software tool is presented for the analysis, design and simulation of this kind of control systems. The tool has been programmed in Python, it is open source and can be used for both research and teaching purposes.

Keywords : PID; Event based control; Distributed control systems.
