Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to develop a strategic planning model that incorporates the university social responsibility with a focus on processes and integrates to the universities’ essential processes: the respect to the environment, the observance of the human rights, the workers’ rights and the commitment to stakeholders. This model considers 4 stages implemented in the following order: planning, implementation of measures, monitoring and evaluation. This work presents the results achieved on the planning stage. The main results expected of its implementation are, in addition to direct impacts generated by the social responsibility of universities on the society, the formation of capacities and values on students that allow them to response to the needs of the society and, above all, to establish this social responsibility culture in the exercise of their profession.
