Abstract

GARCIA TOLL, Alejandra Elena et al. Model for lubrication and lubricants management in industry. Ingeniería Mecánica [online]. 2023, vol.26, n.3, pp. 45-53.  Epub Feb 10, 2024. ISSN 1815-5944.

The research was carried out based on participatory observation of lubrication actions in different organizations. The evaluation carried out on lubrication and lubricant management identified a set of deficiencies. It was considered that having a model to guide lubrication management is useful to guarantee the continuous improvement of this activity. The objective was to design a model for the management of lubrication and lubricants. The proposed model was conceived as a closed-loop system focused on processes and quality. It was based on Deming's PDCA Cycle (Plan, Do, Check and Act), which appears in ISO 9001:2015 Quality management systems. Requirements, stages were defined for each phase and five aspects of each stage were explained in detail: input information, activities, review, output information and metrics.

Keywords : lubrication management; lubricant management; management model.
