Abstract

One of the quality tools used to determine if a process is capable of meeting the desired technical specifications is the capability analysis, which constitutes one of the premises to guarantee the quality of products. For this reason, the present work aims to implement the process capability analysis in the gauge manufacturing. To carry out the evaluation, a complex or multipurpose caliber is taken as a sample, manufactured in a military company, intended for checking the channels of the new sniper rifle barrels, 25 measurements are made in different sections of its diameter. As a result, the values of the process capability indices were obtained and it was concluded that the gauge manufacturing process is unsuitable due to its incapability to produce gauges within the established specifications.
