Abstract
VAZQUEZ PADILLA, Maydeé. Maternal Mortality in Cuba. Rev Nov Pob [online]. 2019, vol.15, n.30, pp.123-129. Epub Apr 15, 2020. ISSN 1817-4078.
Maternal mortality is one of the indicators that more accurately reflects the inequities that may exist in terms of women's health care. The constant monitoring and follow-up of this indicator is a priority not only for health entities but also for the entire country, with the main objective of mapping health actions focused on its reduction. A well-known fact is that it is an indicator that progresses slowly and that resists entering a process of sustained decline, hence the relevance of studying its behavior in greater depth. The main objective of this paper is to provide a systematization of the main results regarding the issue of mortality in Cuba from its transition process, and highlighting maternal mortality and its specificities, for greater knowledge of how to approach this topic.
