Abstract

Eisenmenger syndrome is a multisystemic disorder characterized by pulmonary hypertension with inversion or bidirectional flow through intracardiac or aortopulmonary communication. To publicize the general characteristics of Eisenmenger syndrome. The case of a 48-year-old male patient with a diagnosis of 6-year-old systemic lupus erythematosus with pulmonary hypertension and cardiac insufficiency in treatment is presented, which is due to mane of mane, decay and hemodynamic instability. The physical examination highlights the presence of a distended abdomen and edema of the lower limbs. Complementary examinations were made to reach the diagnosis of Eisenmenger syndrome. Despite presenting multiple complications in the course of systemic lupus erythematosus, no reports were found that associated lupus with Eisenmenger syndrome. Diagnosis of cyanotic congenital heart disease in childhood and corrective surgery are the main preventive measures for the appearance of Eisenmenger syndrome.
