APOLO MORAN, Carlos Francisco; IDROVO VALLEJO, Vanessa Beatriz  and  CABRERA GALECIO, Mercedes. The novel and the methodology of adapting it to cinema and television. Conrado [online]. 2019, vol.15, n.67, pp. 274-281.  Epub June 02, 2019. ISSN 1990-8644.

The following investigation was born with the purpose of analyzing a selection of bestsellers books and prize winners, in the genres of horror, drama and romance to determine if their film adaptation was faithful to the original material, which worked on the big screen and which did not. In order to have the varied material, the selection of books that are known by young readers and adults was made. Finally, the support material on script writing and interviews with filmmakers and writers was identified to determine the reasons why it is difficult to adapt a previous material, to a script, or if the presented material was effective in transmitting the essence of the book, which can cause the film to not achieve the desired impact on the viewer.
