Abstract

The relevance that have acquired science and technology in recent decades in Latin America, as premier issues on the global agenda, being a point of differentiation between so-called developed countries and Latin America, have different socio-economic scenarios. In this panorama, education for Latin American territory is seen as an alternative, a window that cannot be hidden or closed; it is the space by which the changes and transformations that Latin American society requires can be made possible. In order to focus on the present proposal, which has as its main axis the Sociocritical Analysis, it is concretely specific in the Colombian case, where a review of the history of education in the country is made throughout the 20th century. In this way, basic and secondary education is establishing as an alternative to the work proposed by the social sciences through applied scientific thought, of which reference is made in terms of its pragmatic importance, in the daily application that has the relationship that is saved with the search for truth in constant attachment to knowledge. Scientific thinking is configuring as the basis of Socio critical Analysis for the development of student skills that allow them to reflect, interpret, criticize and contribute in the best possible way to the society of which they are part.
