Abstract
TOLEDO OLARTE, Gabriel Eduardo and DIAZ LOPEZ, Raquel. The agony of the Colombian musical heritage. Conrado [online]. 2019, vol.15, n.68, pp.104-111. Epub Sep 02, 2019. ISSN 2519-7320.
The present work exposes how the lack of strategies in Colombian universities, institutes and conservatories aimed at the training of teachers for the teaching of music in elementary school (from first to fifth grade), basic and middle school (sixth grade to eleven), prevents students from appreciating the native music of the Colombian nation. The lack of fluency in the curricular guidelines and the limited time of work devoted to it, together with structural and organizational problems, cognitive and cultural shortcomings that weaken the sense of belonging, pride and patriotic love, provoke the displacement and even the disappearance of the original music of the country, becoming a victim of cultural globalization and makes its own identity, happens to be remembered in books, articles, scores, videos and old recordings. The aim of this article is to make a general review of the background of the Colombian musical heritage, focusing on the gap, that teachers present when addressing this issue in order to ensure that students appropriate and identify with their idiosyncrasy, and this is not lose in oblivion
