Abstract

GARCIA PUENTES, Constanza Dorey; MONTANO SANTANA, Jheyson Fernando  and  PEREZ RODRIGUEZ, Cesar Arturo. Learning based on projects for community development, an experience in the training of Civil Engineers. Conrado [online]. 2019, vol.15, n.68, pp. 130-134.  Epub Sep 02, 2019. ISSN 1990-8644.

This article presents the pedagogical experience of project-based learning for community development, carried out during the year 2018 in the Civil Engineering Program of Uniminuto- Zipaquirá Regional Center, within the framework of the courses of Social Interest Housing and Construction of buildings. The project was based on human-centered design methodology, composed of three stages which include observation and listening (immersion and interaction with the community in context), ideation and design (alternative solutions) and socialization and delivery (evaluation of the product and improvement), as was also proposed through a simulation of public tender with its corresponding terms of reference, with the support of the community of the Municipality of Pacho Cundinamarca and an interdisciplinary team of professors. This in order to provide tools to students to identify the problems and needs through housing and social cohesion works, and provide solutions that contribute to community development; taking into account that Uniminuto's educational model seeks integral education through the strength of professional competences, human development and social responsibility through praxis.
