The work addresses aspects related to the need for continuing education of teachers in Technical and Vocational Education (ETP), so that they can actively insert advances in science and technology in their professional practice based on the demands of the current Cuban society at this educational level according to the socio-economic development of the country. The objective of this study is to identify the characteristics that teachers of Technical and Vocational Education must have that justify their continuing education. The logic of the present study took into account the use of diverse research methods and techniques, among which the observation, interviewing and analysis of documents stand out, which when processed allowed reaching conclusions.
