Abstract

FONTAINES-RUIZ, Tomás; CASIMIRO URCOS, Walther Hernán  and  CASIMIRO URCOS, Consuelo Nora. Qualities of novel researchers from the perspective of expert researchers. Conrado [online]. 2019, vol.15, n.69, pp. 110-118.  Epub Sep 02, 2019. ISSN 1990-8644.

The aim of the research was to understand the qualities of novel researchers from the point of view of expert investigators. The methodology used was mixed, and the unit of analysis consisted of 78 expert researchers linked to the Prometeo Program of the Secretary Office of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation in Ecuador. We found five qualities such as cognitive, pro social, academic, personality traits and leadership. They reveal the behavior of the novel investigators as social actors in their training space, the way they show themselves to their colleagues, the tasks they must perform as part of their training, and the forms of interaction between their performance and their role.

Keywords : Novel researcher; socio-discursive interaction; researcher qualities; researcher training; researcher skills.
