Abstract

The article aims to reflect on the philosophy of technology in the educational processes of the current context and to respond to the intended objective, it was considered appropriate to present a conceptual approach to the philosophy of technology, to explain the philosophical foundations and some elementary characteristics that justify its presence; a brief historical journey is also made of the emergence of technology from the technique present from the beginnings of humanity; in addition, perceptions of teachers and university students (from the city of Quito) about technology in the educational process are socialized. Finally, it reflects on the challenges of the philosophy of technology in today’s education, in the historical-social becoming, the human being has developed abilities and skills, has found various cognitive, technical and technological ways to transform the world, to improve living conditions and to respond to the new demands of the context that has lived. In today’s society, the presence of the philosophy of technology becomes indispensable to understand the meaning of technological reality and its implications in all areas of human existence.
