The present work is the synthesis of the professional experience developed by its author in his 46 years of services in Cuban education and in particular as an active part in his development, not only as a formator of trainers, but as a researcher. It offers a personalized view of the transit of the road traveled in the development of Higher Education in the province of Cienfuegos, at the level of its University of Cienfuegos "Carlos Rafael Rodriguez" and outlines where we are going.
