TOLEDO SANCHEZ, Marisol; CONCHA CHAVEZ, Evelia and RUIZ CAMPOS, Verónica Benigna. Physical activity program for the improvement of arm strength in older adults. Conrado [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.72, pp.217-221. Epub Feb 02, 2020. ISSN 2519-7320.
The most correct way to begin a work of force with a group of older adults is from a prescription of the exercise, in order to have an important reference in the programming of the training; The assessment of the level of physical condition, choice of exercises, determination of workloads and planning of activities are taken into account. The proposed program is based on a study of measurements in terms of body composition. The objective of the program was to verify the effectiveness of a program of Physical Activity for the strengthening of the upper extremities in the elderly people of the National Institute of the Elderly (INAPAM). The evaluation instrument used was the manual dynamometry of both hands (right and left); the actions consisted of recreational, predeportive activities and physical exercises, considering the characteristics of each person, with a duration of 5 months for 4 days a week. The comparison of means in percentage terms was used, resulting in a considerable improvement in the strength of the upper extremities of the people attending the program.
