The article aims to determine the extent to which the application of the rubric as a tool for formative and summative evaluation affects the performance of teachers in primary educational institutions with an intercultural approach in Andahuaylas, Peru, in the year 2019. For this purpose, it was used a correlational descriptive type investigation, where dimensions, indicators and scale of assessment are proposed for the study of the rubric as an instrument of formative and summative evaluation and the teaching performance in the educational institutions studied. For the contracting of the hypothesis declared in the investigation are used: the non-parametric test of the Pearson Correlation coefficient and the normality test of Kolmorogov and Smirnov. The results confirm that there is a significant relationship between the use of the rubric as a formative and summative assessment tool and the ability to assess the quality of teaching performance.
