Abstract

This article responds to a descriptive study with a qualitative approach of the bibliographic review type, which has the purpose of analyzing the treatment given to child labor in the Ecuadorian normative legal system. The research was based on scientific research methods such as exegetical analytical-synthetic and content analysis; what allowed to conclude that in Ecuador there is a systematic normative legal framework that contemplates child labor in correspondence with the provisions of international organizations, institutions, treaties and conventions; in which work is prohibited that by its nature or by the conditions in which it is carried out, it is likely to damage the physical, psychic, health, safety and moral development of minors. Among its causes are social, cultural, economic, historical, political and institutional that have physical, psychological and social consequences.
