Abstract
CAMPOS NAVA, Marcos and TORRES RODRIGUEZ, Agustín Alfredo. Using a video game as a teaching resource in mathematics class: The Case of the puzzle hands of time. Conrado [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.74, pp.201-206. Epub June 02, 2020. ISSN 2519-7320.
This work reports the use of a video game as a didactic resource in a higher level algebra, geometry and computational tools course. For this, a commercial video game called “Hands of time” from Final Fantasy XIII-2 was selected, whose characteristics allowed us to identify in this resource, elements that are compatible with the approach to problem-based learning (ABP). Taking the aforementioned video game as context, a project was presented to a group of students, which focused on finding routes or solution algorithms. As a final part they had to make an oral presentation of their results. The analysis of the main findings was carried out using as references the use of digital tools for teaching mathematics, and the problem solving approach.
