One of the objectives of university education should be to develop critical thinking in students in order to access knowledge. This kind of thinking is reached by increasing in them their ability in critical reading, comprehension and re flection to question ideas and facts, discovering intensions and ideologies and adopting points of view, meaning, to build specific knowledge proper academic community. This article to consider developing critical reading skills in the college so that the students can interpret texts, recreate them, and develop the reading competence that will allow them to not only comprehend and infer the meanings from the contexts but also exhibit an inquisitive, critical attitude. We propose that faculty in each disciplinary area could intentionally guide the students to expedite the way towards the goal of university reading (social) practices; Therefore, of reading and critical thinking as a fundamental basis in the training of university students.
